White Composite Fillings

When a cavity needs to be filled, we use tooth-colored composite resin — not old metal amalgam. The result looks completely natural, bonds directly to the tooth for added strength, and requires removing less healthy tooth structure. Your child will never have a mouth full of silver.

Dental Crowns

For teeth with extensive decay or after a nerve treatment, a crown protects and restores the tooth. We offer stainless steel crowns for back teeth (durable and cost-effective) and tooth-colored zirconia crowns for front teeth — so your child's smile always looks great.

Teeth Whitening for Teens

Once permanent teeth are fully erupted, professional whitening is safe and highly effective. Dr. Doll offers custom take-home whitening trays that provide dramatically better results than anything you'd buy at the pharmacy — and fit perfectly for even whitening.

Nerve Treatments (Pulpotomy)

When decay reaches the nerve of a baby tooth, a pulpotomy (baby root canal) removes the infected portion of the nerve while preserving the tooth. Keeping baby teeth in place matters — they hold space for permanent teeth and help with speech and chewing.

Why We Only Use Tooth-Colored Restorations

We don't use metal amalgam fillings. Modern composite resin is stronger, safer, and looks completely natural. It bonds directly to your child's tooth, which means we can preserve more of the healthy tooth structure — a big deal for long-term dental health.

For crowns on front teeth, we use zirconia — the same material used in adult dental restorations — because your child's smile matters from day one. You won't see a flash of silver when they laugh.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are white fillings safe for kids?

Yes — composite (white) fillings are safe, BPA-free, and bond directly to the tooth structure. They require less removal of healthy tooth than silver amalgam fillings. Dr. Doll uses tooth-colored composite resin exclusively, so your child's smile stays natural-looking.

At what age can kids get teeth whitening?

Professional whitening is generally recommended for teens whose permanent teeth have fully erupted — typically age 14 and up. For younger children, the focus is on maintaining natural whiteness through proper cleaning and sealants rather than whitening treatments.

How long do white fillings last in kids?

Composite fillings typically last 5–10 years with proper care. Baby teeth fillings only need to last until the tooth naturally falls out. Dr. Doll will recommend the best material based on which tooth needs treatment and your child's age.

Does getting a filling hurt?

Dr. Doll numbs the area before any filling so the procedure itself is painless. Some children feel slight pressure during the process. Our team uses a tell-show-do approach so kids know exactly what to expect, which dramatically reduces anxiety.
