Nitrous Oxide (Mild Sedation)

Often known as “laughing gas”, this is a great minimally-sedative option to help prevent pain when getting dental care, especially for those with a small amount of dental work who might be a bit nervous. A great-smelling “nose” is placed on the child’s nose as they breathe normally. Nitrous oxide wears off quickly—within minutes of removing the nose–and therefore has very few contraindications. It often works wonders for younger children to teenagers.

Oral Conscious Sedation (Moderate)

This works wonderfully for many children who require more dental work or who may have greater dental anxiety. Your child will be fasting prior to the appointment and given a small amount of oral medication that takes effect in about 60 minutes. Your child will watch movies during this time while being monitored regularly by our staff. When your child is relaxed we will provide safe and excellent dental care.

IV Sedation

This is another great option for younger children with more significant dental needs or those that may be more anxious about dental care. We have taken every precaution to ensure your child is safely cared for by our outstanding team. For the past nine years, Dr. Doll has been providing excellent care with the support of an amazing anesthesia team.

General Anesthesia

Due to special needs or other special circumstances, some children may need care at a hospital or surgery center such as Primary Children’s Medical Center.  Dr. Doll will ensure that your child receives the best of care in the most appropriate setting, relative to their individual needs.
